Driver Killed in Traffic Collision at Hatch Road and Central Avenue Saturday
Ceres, CA (July 17, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of Hatch Road and Central Avenue in Ceres, the CBS Sacramento reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a silver Volkswagen Beatle attempted to run a traffic stop at the Ceres intersection. In the process, the Beatle collided with a semi truck.
The catastrophic incident took place at about 6 p.m. on July 17, Sunday.
When emergency teams arrived at the site, they found the Beatle pinned underneath the big rig. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate the two occupants trapped in the wreckage.
The article published online confirmed the driver sadly died at the scene. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Passenger Seriously Injured in Ceres Car Accident, July 17
Officers added the passenger sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident. An ambulance rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the fatal car crash in Ceres happened.
