1 Killed, 3 Injured in Ceres Crash at Whitmore Avenue and Morgan Road
CERES, CA (July 23, 2022) – A DUI crash at Whitmore Avenue and Morgan Road killed one person and injured several others in Ceres.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:15 p.m.
The incident happened on July 22 when a vehicle was traveling toward the intersection of East Whitmore Avenue and Morgan Road in Ceres.
Police said the car then failed to stop for a line of vehicles waiting at a red light. In the process, the first vehicle slammed into the rear of one car.
Drunk Driver Hits Car, Causes Chain-Reaction
The impact pushed both vehicles into two other stopped cars at the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that a woman died in the collision.
A total of three other adults ended up hurt as a result of the accident. Two of them sustained life-threatening injuries following the wreck.
Medical personnel rushed all three patients to hospitals for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, police determined that the driver who caused the pileup was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They soon arrested the 25-year-old man on suspicion of DUI.
Officers forced the area of Whitmore and Morgan to shut down for hours after the incident. The fatal Ceres crash is still under investigation.
