Victorville Woman, 18, Killed; 3 Injured in Big Bear Car Accident
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 19, 2024) — Cerine N. Garcia, 18, of Victorville, died Tuesday night in a crash at Big Bear Boulevard, just east of Stanfield Cutoff in Big Bear.
The young woman, who recently turned 18, when she and a friend drove to Big Bear for a day trip.
She was identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. Her family shared photos of the teen and is raising money for her funeral with a Gofundme account.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:13 p.m. on January 16, 2024, according to an article written by Victor Valley News Group.
2-Vehicle Crash on Big Bear Boulevard
The drivers of a black Lexus and a beige Nissan were involved. The vehicles were heading in opposite directions on Big Bear Boulevard. One of the drivers veered into the path of the other and they both collided head-on.
Paramedics responded and rushed the driver of the Lexus to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. However, the passenger in the Lexus identified as Cerine Garcia, died at the scene of the crash.
Meanwhile, both the driver and passenger of the Nissan sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Bear Valley Community Hospital.
Finally, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the cause of the crash and liability. Witnesses are urged to contact Deputy Wilson from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station at (909) 866-0100.
