Two-Vehicle Cerritos Crash Interstate 605 Freeway
CERRITOS, Calif. (April 1, 2021) — A Cerritos car accident happened Thursday morning when a white SUV crashed into a disabled car on the Interstate 605 Freeway.
The collision happened about 9:50 a.m. on April 1st at South Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The red vehicle became disabled in the middle of the northbound side of the freeway. A driver in a white SUV crashed into it and the red vehicle caught on fire. The red vehicle became fully engulfed in flames, but it was extinguished by arriving Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.
Multiple freeway lanes were blocked by the Cerritos car accident and resulting fire.
Tow trucks removed both damaged vehicles. The SUV had major front-end damage and the red 2-door car had major rear-end damage and fire damage.
Police issued a SigAlert about 10:06 a.m. due to several lanes
