1 Killed in Motorcycle, Party Bus Crash on 91 Freeway Sunday
Cerritos, CA (May 30, 2021) – One person died following a traffic accident on 91 Freeway Sunday morning, the KTLA5 News reported.
Officials said a man was riding a 2008 Yamaha R6 in the carpool lane of the 91 Freeway. Preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling at a speed greater than 80 miles per hour.
In the area just west of Shoemaker Avenue, the rider veered behind a 2013 Ford in the adjacent lane. Subsequently, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and collided into the party bus.
Deadly Motorcycle Accident in Cerritos, May 30
Emergency teams arrived at the crash site shortly after 2:35 a.m. First responders found the motorcyclist lying unconscious on the road. According to the article published online, paramedics performed life-saving measures to the man but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the party bus appeared unharmed after the incident.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of fatal motorcycle accident in Cerritos.
