OCEANSIDE, California — 42-year-old Chad Michael Gayda died on February 28 after his motorcycle collided with two vehicles on Highway 76.
As per an article by Oside News, Gayda was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after 5:15 a.m.
Police learned from the initial investigation that Gayda was traveling in a 2016 Harley Davidson on the westbound of the freeway near Foussat Road. Then, for an unknown reason, the motorcyclist locked up the rear brakes on the motorcycle, lost control, and rear-ended a 2005 Ford sedan stopped in the number 2 lane. As per Oside News, the motorcycle then bounced off the Ford and collided with a 2007 Nissan sedan in the number 1 lane.
The incident resulted in fatal injuries to Gayda.
At this time, no information was provided on the condition of the Ford and Nissan occupants. But officials affirmed all involved parties were cooperative in the investigation.
