4-Vehicle Collision Involving Semi-Truck on El Dorado Freeway (US 50)

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2026) — A crash involving a semi-truck and three other vehicles happened Monday on westbound US Highway 50 at the Stockton Boulevard off ramp in Sacramento.

The chain-reaction collision was reported in the westbound slow lanes of US 50 or El Dorado Freeway at around 8:39 a.m. on Sept. 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials initially reported a grey Toyota Highlander was rear-ended by a semi-truck before clarifying a green Ford Mustang Mach-E collided with the truck and three other vehicles, including a white Mercedes GLC300 in a chain-reaction crash.

The vehicles were blocking traffic lanes and paramedics were dispatched to the scene to help those injured.

The cause of the crash and liability is under investigation.
