Transient Woman Killed in Chula Vista Crash ID’d as Chancey Darmond
CHULA VISTA, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2020) — Chancey Charnae Darmond, 31, has been identified as the transient woman killed a week ago in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista.
First of all, the collision was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 1:18 a.m., according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The woman was struck by several motorists on the northbound side of Interstate 805, just south of State Route 54 in Chula Vista, California, the coroner said.
Indeed, it was the early hours of October 14th when the 31-year-old woman was struck by a driver travelling northbound on Interstate 805. A motorist called 911 after he saw several cars swerving in front of him. Additionally, the driver told authorities there was debris and what appeared to be a body in the roadway.
Police officers rushed to the Chula Vista crash scene and confirmed the woman died. It’s unknown why she was in the roadway, nor who the driver was that initially struck her.
Furthermore, the 911 caller did not actually witness the collision, but only the aftermath. The CHP is currently investigating the incident.
