Jade Maldonado, 14, Killed in San Bernardino Hit-and-Run Accident
SAN BERNARDINO (October 8, 2018) – The hit-and-run driver who killed a teenage pedestrian in the area of Pacific Street and Glasgow Avenue last month has been arrested, according to The Sun and KTLA.
Charlean Larue Welch, 55, was the suspect of a tragic collision which occurred on September 28 just after 7 a.m.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said 14-year-old Jade Maldonado was walking at the intersection of Glasgow Avenue and Pacific Street when she was struck by a tan 2000 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Welch.
Welch was traveling east between 40 and 50 mph when she failed to yield to Maldonado who was in a marked crosswalk at the time.

CHP affirmed that the San Bernardino teen was rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she died.
Meanwhile, Welch did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. She was arrested on Monday on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in a death, and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, both felonies.
The San Bernardino woman was being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga with a bail set at $100,000.
