Rider Injured in Hit-and-Run Collision at Fountaingrove and Sedgemoore
Santa Rosa, CA (September 11, 2022) – Police arrested Charles Bernhardy, a 37-year-old Santa Rosa resident, following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Fountaingrove Parkway and Sedgemoore Drive.
The KRON4 News reported Charles Bernhardy was behind the wheel of a pickup truck traveling in the streets of Santa Rosa later Tuesday. When the driver approached the intersection near Rincon Ridge Park, he crashed into a man riding a motorcycle.
According to the article published online, the force from the impact ejected the motorcyclist. Responding paramedics found the victim lying on the ground, and suffering in serious injuries. An ambulance rushed the patient to a local hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.
Authorities added the incident left the motorbike clipped unto the pickup truck. When the driver fled after the collision, the pickup truck dragged the motorcycle approximately two miles west of the intersection.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Santa Rosa Accident
After the investigation, officers identified and located the hit-and-run suspect. Police arrested Charles Bernhardy Arrested in Santa Rosa DUI Motorcycle Crash Wednesday morning in the 700 block of Benicia Drive.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
