Charles Lewis Hit by Car at Valero Gas Station in Salinas
SALINAS (July 24, 2017) – 60-year-old Charles Lewis died on July 21, two months after being involved in an accident near North Main and Casentini streets intersection, according to a press release by the Salinas Police Department.
On May 17, Lewis was riding his bicycle southbound on the east sidewalk of North Main Street when he collided with a vehicle exiting a Valero gas station driveway, officials said.

The incident took place at approximately 2:25 p.m. Lewis suffered severe head and spine trauma, and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit until he succumbed to his injuries last Friday.
No immediate information was provided on the other person involved.
