Man, 33, Killed in Sylmar Crash on I-210 Freeway
SYLMAR, Calif. (Oct. 24, 2022) – Charly Mederos, 33, died and two others suffered injuries Saturday in a solo crash on the westbound Interstate 210 Freeway in Sylmar.
The collision occurred about 12:47 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23rd, just east of Roxford Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Charly Mederos suffered multiple blunt trauma and died at the scene, the coroner’s office said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the westbound side of the Foothill (210) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
They located a vehicle that had crashed into a Caltrans forklift, the LAFD said.
Authorities located two men in their 30s trapped underneath the vehicle. However, one of the men managed to free himself and the LAFD extricated the other person identified as Charly Mederos.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two injured men to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the report said
Investigators say there were no injuries to any of the Caltrans workers at the scene.
