Cheryl Bowling, 63, Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash Near Chester and China
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 27, 2022) – Cheryl Ann Bowling was killed after a pedestrian crash near Chester Avenue and China Grade Loop in Bakersfield.
The coroner’s office identified the 63-year-old Bakersfield woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Cheryl Ann Bowling was crossing the sidewalk in her wheelchair on a green light in Bakersfield. At the same time, a truck was making a right turn.

For an unknown reason, the vehicle struck her. The car hit her at the intersection of North Chester Avenue and China Grade Loop.
Cheryl Bowling sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found her lying on the ground.
Medical personnel soon rushed her to the Kern Medical, where she died. The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the collision took place on April 25 shortly before 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman. The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
