CHICO, California (February 16, 2017) – Two were hospitalized after an alleged hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 Thursday evening, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP first logged the incident when at least two vehicles collided at 6:23 p.m. The wreck took place on southbound Highway 99, just south of Cohasset Road on-ramp.
As per the report, one of the drivers involved did not stop to render assistance and left the scene. Paramedics responded and transported two people to Enloe Medical Center with complaints of pain.
The victim car, apparently a red Ford Escort, sustained moderate to major front-end damage following the crash. The suspect fled in a small black vehicle.
Meanwhile, the dispatch mentioned that possibly two more cars were involved, including an off-duty fire department official. No confirmation has been made yet.
Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
