
Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Chico Crash at Honey Run and Centerville Roads
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2023) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash at Honey Run Road and Centerville Road near Chico.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the collision took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the accident on March 18 at about 1:57 p.m.
The incident happened when for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the bicycle rider in the Butte Creek Canyon community near Chico. The driver hit the bicyclist at the intersection of Honey Run and Centerville roads.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the cyclist hurt. The victim ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site following the accident. Officers forced the area of Honey Run and Centerville roads to shut down after the incident.
The cause of the Chico bicycle crash is still under investigation.
