Garbage Truck Hits Teen Riding Bicycle in Chico
CHICO, Calif. (September 8, 2021) – A Chico bicycle accident involving a garbage truck left a teenager seriously injured at West Sacramento and Nord avenues.
The traffic accident happened about 7:55 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7th in Chico, according to the Oroville-Mercury Register.
The 18-year-old woman was riding a bicycle in the area of West Sacramento and Nord avenues. Chico police said for an unknown reason, a garbage truck then hit her.
Bicyclist Hurt in Crash with Trash Truck
The bicycle rider became trapped underneath the truck. Meanwhile, a witness called 911 for firefighters and paramedics.
The young woman was pulled out from underneath the truck and transported to a hospital with a serious leg injury.
Meanwhile, police closed down the intersection after the bicycle accident following the truck accident.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the Chico bicycle accident.
