2 Drivers Hospitalized After Traffic Collision on Highway 99 Tuesday
Chico, CA (April 9, 2021) – On April 6, a road accident involving a big rig occurred on Highway 99, the Action News reported.
Tractor vs. Big Rig Accident in Chico, April 6
At approximately 3 a.m., a semi truck and a tractor collided on Highway 99 near Anita Road in Chico. Preliminary investigation revealed the tractor was heading north on the highway followed by the big rig. Authorities believed the operator of the big rig did not see the tractor. For this reason, the semi truck crashed into the back of the tractor.
The force from the impact pushed the tractor off the roadway, and caused the big rig to flip on its side.
Rescue teams arrived at the location shortly after the wreck. Per news article published online, paramedics found the two drivers with injuries. An ambulance reportedly transferred the injured parties to the hospital for treatment.
Officers at the scene diverted traffic fromt Anita Road to Nord Cana Highway. Investigators stayed in the area the whole morning to work to determine the precise cause of the truck accident in Chico.
