1 Seriously Injured in Chico Crash on Highway 99 Near Garner Lane
CHICO, CA (November 19, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on Highway 99 near Garner Lane in Chico.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Friday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck shortly after 5:30 p.m.
CHP said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Chico. They crashed on the northbound side of Highway 99, just south of Garner Lane.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described one of cars involved as a Ford Escape. The Ford obtained major rear-end damage due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the DeGarmo Park. They found one person who sustained major injuries, including a head laceration, as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Enloe Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down near Garner following the wreck. The cause of the Chico crash is still under investigation.
