2 Hospitalized After Collision Near Skyway
Chico, CA (May 16, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route Highway 99, according to Action News Now.
Earlier reports indicated two vehicles collided on the highway in Chico just before noon Monday. Officials described the automobiles involved in the wreck as a Subaru SUV and a Volkswagen minivan. The article published online mentioned force from the impact caused the Subaru to plow through the fence of the dealership and flip on its side. On the other hand, the Volkswagen veered off Highway 99; and came to a rest in the bike path along the fence near the Skyway onramp.

When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to all the occupants in the Subaru and Volkswagen. The California Highway Patrol said the female driver of the Subaru, and the male driver of the Volkswagen both sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Paramedics transported the two patients to the hospitals for treatment and further evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the crash on Highway 99 in Chico.
