Driver Injured in Chico Hit-and-Run Crash at Eaton Road and Esplanade
CHICO, CA (May 6, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a DUI hit-and-run crash at Eaton Road and Esplanade in Chico.
According to an article published by the Action News Now, the accident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 2 p.m.
Police said a black Jeep struck a white SUV for an unknown reason. The two crashed at the intersection of Eaton and Esplanade in Chico.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They found the driver of the SUV who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
DUI Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
Medical personnel then took the victim to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the male motorist in the Jeep did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Officials soon located the suspect and the car in the parking lot of Eaton Village apartments.
Authorities determined he was under the influence when the wreck took place. They arrested and booked him into jail for suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
The Chico DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
