CHICO (July 26, 2016)- According to the Chico ER, a man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning at the intersection of Fifth and Lindo avenues.
The incident occurred just after 9:50 a.m. when a 28-year-old bicyclist was hit by a woman driver an SUV.
The driver who had been inside an Oldsmobile Bravada was traveling westbound upon striking the victim at the intersection.
The 28-year-old man suffered what is being described as a serious head injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition has not been updated.
The article read that police ruled out the possibility of the driver possibly being intoxicated as it was clearly visible that she was not, according to reports.
The woman seemed noticeably upset and distraught as she was questioned by authorities.
At this time, it remains unclear what exactly occurred leading up to the collision as those details continue to be looked into bu investigators.
