Motorcycle Rider Critically Injured in Car Accident
CHICO, Calif. (August 4, 2023) — A Chico motorcycle accident happened Thursday afternoon at East 3rd Avenue and Mangrove Avenue in Chico.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. on August 3rd, according to Action News Now.
A woman in her 80s driving an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Mangrove Avenue and a man in his 70s was riding a motorcycle northbound on Mangrove Avenue.
However, the woman attempted to turn left at a green traffic light and failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist. The two vehicles collided at the intersection and the rider went down in the roadway.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a hospital due to major injuries. He was later listed in stable condition at the hospital.
The Chico Police Department is heading up the investigation.
