Rider Hospitalized After Collision on SR-99
Chico, CA (June 7, 2023) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on State Route Highway 99 Wednesday afternoon, June 7.
The Action News Now published an article online reporting a collision between a person riding a motorcycle and a Ford pickup truck. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Ford was heading south on the highway in Chico. The accident happened when the Ford driver attempted to make a lane switch. In the process of changing lanes, the back left of the pickup truck hit the motorcyclist.
Major Injury Motorcycle Crash in Chico
Due to the force from the impact, the rider ended up ejected from the bike. Emergency crews responded to the location shortly after 3:30 p.m. and immediately attended to the injured motorcyclist. Because of the severe condition of the victim, paramedics decided to transfer them to a hospital for further treatment. Personal information on the injured rider remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the Ford driver also sustained minor wound in the collision. The motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the traffic accident that happened on State Route Highway 99 in Chico.
