Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Chico Crash at Ivy Street and 3rd Street
CHICO, CA (October 23, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Ivy Street and 3rd Street in Chico.
According to The Chico Enterprise-Road and Action News Now, the accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at about 11:41 p.m.
Chico police said the incident happened on October 22 when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city.
The car hit the person who was trying to cross Ivy Street at the intersection with West 3rd Street. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Victim Hit by Car
They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed the individual to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped or stayed at the site following the incident.
Officers forced Ivy Street to shut down for about two hours near 3rd Street after the collision. The cause of the Chico pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
