Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Chico Hit-and-Run Crash on Cohasset Road
CHICO, CA (October 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Cohasset Road in Chico.
According to an article published by the Chico Enterprise-Record, the accident took place late Monday night. Officers reported the collision at about 11:30 p.m.
The incident happened on October 11 when a vehicle struck the pedestrian on Cohasset Road in Chico. The male driver hit the person just south of Lupin Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found the victim hurt on the shoulder of Cohasset Road as a result of the collision.
Drunk Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. They soon located the damaged car in the 900 block of Lupin Avenue.
Officers determined that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They arrested him on suspicion of DUI and felony hit-and-run.
The Chico DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
