CHICO, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2023) — A Chico Unified School District bus and an SUV were involved in a crash Tuesday morning on East Avenue and Cohasset Road.
The two-vehicle collision occurred about 9:37 a.m. on Feb. 21st in the Chico area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the school bus and a GMC Terrain SUV collided due to unknown circumstances. It’s unknown how many students were aboard the bus, but at least two had minor injuries. All children aboard the bus were unloaded after the collision.
Paramedics responded to treat and possibly, transport at least two of them to a hospital for follow-up care.
Meanwhile, two trucks came to remove both the SUV with moderate damage and the school bus from the intersection.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Cohasset crash on East Avenue.
