Contra Costa Personal Injury Lawyer
California has several right of way laws that apply to the pedestrians. These laws include the obligation of the drivers to yield the right of way to pedestrians crossing in a marked crosswalk, or unmarked crosswalks at intersections, to not overtake and pass a stopped vehicle that let pedestrians cross at a marked or unmarked crosswalk, and to exercise due care and lessen the speed of their cars while approaching a pedestrian within any marked or unmarked crosswalk.
If the investigation proves that an individual has been negligent and caused the accident that led to the serious injuries of the young girl, it is likely that the victim and her family may have the right to a personal injury lawsuit. The claim will include compensation for damages such as hospital bills, future medical expenses, and pain and suffering.
