FRESNO, Calif. (Dec. 9, 2022) — A 5-year-old child was struck by a car in a pedestrian accident at Ashlan Avenue and West Avenue in Northwest Fresno.
The traffic accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7th, according to ABC 30 News.
Fresno police reported that the child was walking with their mother and she was pushing a stroller with a second child at the time of the crash.
Investigators say the mother and two children were crossing against a crossing sign when an oncoming car struck the child on foot. Paramedics responded and rushed the injured child to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries from the crash.
The mother and the child in the stroller were not harmed in the pedestrian accident on Ashlan Avenue.
Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and is cooperating with authorities. The Fresno Police Department is heading up the investigation.
