Car Hits Child on Golden Valley Road in Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2019) — A child walking on a sidewalk was injured Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle whose driver lost control on Golden Valley Road at Via Princessa in Santa Clarita.
The victim, who was struck by the dark-colored Toyota sedan when it veered onto the sidewalk, suffered non-life- threatening injuries in the 3 p.m. crash. The incident took place at the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Via Princessa, near Golden Oak Community School, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The child, who was walking with other children that were not hit, was airlifted to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The motorist’s vehicle struck the child and a traffic signal pole, police said. Police investigating the crash to find out what caused them to lose control, do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved.
