3 Kids Hurt in Bounce House Accident at Police Station Open House
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (May 3, 2022) — Three children were hurt after downdraft from a helicopter lifted the inflatable bounce house they were inside at a Rancho Cucamonga Police Station community open house.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 30th at the police station in Rancho Cucamonga, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The children were playing inside a bounce house at the ground-level parking lot at the police station. Then a sheriff’s helicopter landed on the 3-story building’s rooftop helipad and lifted the bounce house and several canopies off the ground. The helicopter landing was part one of the scheduled events at the open house.
The bounce house reportedly became partially deflated as it landed back onto the ground at the Rancho Cucamonga event.
The children were all taken to a nearby hospital for examination and treatment. Meanwhile, a fourth child in the bounce house was check at the scene.
Finally, the incident remains under investigation.
