1 Killed in Collision Near 45th Street
Chollas View, CA (March 5, 2023) – A 63-year-old man died following a car accident that occurred on Market Street Sunday, March 5.
The San Diego Union-Tribune News reported two vehicles collided near 45th Street in the Chollas View neighborhood. Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound 1993 Nissan Maxima veered into the opposite side of the roadway and crashed into an eastbound 2018 Lexus RX 350 SUV. According to the article published online, the force from the impact sent parts of the two vehicles strewn across the traffic lanes.
Emergency crews responded to the site shortly after 1 p.m. Firefighters also arrived at the accident scene, and worked extensively to free three victims trapped in the mangled cars.
At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Market Street in Chollas View
One person sustained life-threatening injuries, and eventually died in the crash. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the name of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Authorities added another person sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Personal information on the victim have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly car accident that happened on Market Street in Chollas View.
