CHOWCHILLA, California (March 21, 2016) – According to a California Highway Patrol dispatch, a major injury collision involving a semi-truck took place on northbound Highway 99 Monday night. (map)
CHP said a white big rig and a dark colored small sedan collided at about 9:12 p.m., near Avenue 27 off-ramp.
As per the incident log, the car appeared to have been stuck underneath the truck. Its driver was also reportedly pinned inside the small vehicle.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to at least one person who was seriously injured in the crash. The patient was taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
