CHP Motorcycle Officer Seriously Injured in Fresno Crash Near Ashlan and McCall
FRESNO, CA (May 5, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a CHP motorcycle officer near Ashlan Avenue and McCall Avenue in Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News, the accident occurred on Wednesday morning. Officials reported the wreck at about 5:15 a.m.
The incident happened when a California Highway Patrol Officer was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Ashlan Avenue in Fresno.
At the same time, a tractor pulling an agricultural spray rig was on the shoulder of the roadway. For an unknown reason, the farm vehicle then entered the eastbound lane of Ashlan.
Motorcycle and Farm Tractor Collide in Fresno
The operator of the tractor went into the path of the CHP officer. In the process, the motorcyclist collided with the sprayer trailer near McCall Avenue.
The impact forced the motorcycle onto the northbound shoulder and ejected the officer. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.
Medical personnel found the CHP officer suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed him to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the other driver involved ended up unharmed and stayed at the site following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Fresno motorcycle crash.
