CHP Officer Critically Injured in Sacramento DUI Crash Near Stockton and Florin
SACRAMENTO, CA (October 16, 2022) – A DUI crash critically injured a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer near Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road in Sacramento.
According to the ABC 10 News and FOX 40 News, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 12:30 a.m.
The incident began when a fatal collision happened near Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road in Sacramento. CHP officers responded to the scene and conducted traffic control.
A car approached the enclosure and then struck one CHP officer standing outside their unit.
DUI Driver Hits Victim
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found the victim hurt. The officer ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital and listed him in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, officers determined that the driver who hit the officer was under the influence at the time. They soon arrested the motorist on suspicion of DUI.
CHP forced the area of Stockton and Florin to shut down following the wreck. The Sacramento DUI crash is still under investigation.
