CHP Officer Jason Barton Seriously Injured in Fresno Motorcycle Crash
FRESNO, CA (June 11, 2021) – A crash seriously injured a CHP motorcycle Officer Jason Barton near Ashlan and McCall avenues in Fresno.
The Fresno Bee and FOX 26 News wrote that the accident took place last month on May 5. Officials reported the wreck at about 5:15 a.m.
The incident began when California Highway Patrol Officer Jason Barton was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Ashlan Avenue in Fresno.
At the same time, a tractor pulling an agricultural spray rig was on the shoulder of the road. For an unknown reason, the farm vehicle entered the eastbound lane of Ashlan.
Motorcyclist and Farm Tractor Collide
The tractor then went into the path of the motorcycle. In the process, CHP Officer Jason Barton collided with the sprayer trailer near McCall Avenue.
The motorcycle came to a stop on the northbound shoulder while the rider ended up ejected from the bike. CHP Officer Jason Barton sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics took him to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 24 year veteran was released a month after the wreck.
Meanwhile, the operator of the farm vehicle did not sustain any wound following the collision. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Fresno motorcycle crash.
