CHP Officer Injured in Riverside Crash Near Van Buren and Trautwein
RIVERSIDE, CA (October 8, 2022) – A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer was hospitalized after a crash near Van Buren Boulevard and Trautwein Road in Riverside.
According to an article published by The Daily Bulletin, the accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the wreck on October 7 at around 2:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a CHP officer was going west on Van Buren Boulevard, approaching Trautwein Road, in Riverside.
2 Cars Collide
At the same time, a sedan was going east. For an unknown reason, the driver of the sedan made a left turn on a red light and went into the path of the patrol SUV.
In the process, the two cars collided near the intersection. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the officer who sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment and the other motorist as a precaution. The report did not disclose the names of the involved parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officials forced the area of Van Buren and Trautwein to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Riverside crash is still under investigation.
