CHP Officer Vue Injured in Crash Near Palermo Road Lone Tree Road
PALERMO, CA (June 7, 2021) – A car crash left CHP Officer Vue badly injured near Palermo Road and Lone Tree Road.
The Chico Enterprise-Record and Action News Now wrote that the accident occurred on Sunday night. Officials reported the wreck shortly before 10 p.m.
The incident happened on June 6 when CHP Officer P. Vue was driving west on Palermo Road. At the same time, a 2008 silver Kia Rio was going south on Lone Tree Road.
CHP Officer Vue was trying to stop the vehicle for suspected DUI. In the process, the Kia drove through the intersection and hit the right side of the patrol vehicle.
Car Collision in Butte County’s Palermo
The CHP unit rolled over multiple times upon impact and plunged down an embankment. The patrol car landed in a field to the southwest of Palermo.
CHP Officer Vue sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics soon took him to Oroville Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Kia spun out of control and came to a rest on the north shoulder of Palermo. Firefighters extricated the two trapped occupants of the Rio from the wreckage.
Air and ground ambulances took both patients to the Enloe Medical Center with major injuries. Meanwhile, authorities forced the area of Palermo and Lone Tree roads to close following the wreck.
The Butte County crash is still under investigation.
