Vehicle Hits Patrol Car Near Saratoga Avenue
San Jose, CA (February 27, 2023) – Two deputies suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 280 Freeway Monday, February 27.
The CBS News reported the California Highway Patrol officers were investigating a solo-car crash on the freeway near Saratoga Avenue. Our sources indicated the patrol vehicle was parked on the shoulder of the northbound side of I-280 while the officer conducted the investigation.
According to the article published online, a silver Ford Focus approached the area where the first collision happened. For reasons still unclear, the Ford driver lost control of the car and slammed into the parked CHP vehicle occupied by at least one officer. Officials added the Ford also hit the officer conducting an investigation along the freeway.
2 Hospitalized After Collision on Interstate 280 in San Jose
Medical personnel arrived shortly after 1 p.m. and checked the conditions of all parties involved in the second incident. After the evaluation, paramedics transported the two CHP officers to an area hospital for further treatment.
No immediate information was available on the condition of the Ford driver after the collision.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car accident that happened on Interstate 280 in San Jose.
