Maserati Driver Killed in Crash on Highway 50 in West Sacramento
WEST SACRAMENTO (April 11, 2019) – Chris Allen Courtney, 51, was struck and killed early Wednesday morning when he got out of his 2018 Maserati after a non-injury crash and was struck by the suspect in a white Ford sedan.
The initial crash took place about 2:01 a.m. when the Maserati crashed into the center divide on the westbound side of Highway 50, near Harbor Boulevard. A second driver, Miguel Moldanodo, 19, also crashed trying to avoid the Maserati.
Moldanodo was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol stated that the suspect struck Courtney after he exited his vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene in a white Ford Fusion or Escape sedan.
The suspect is being sought by the CHP’s Woodland office. Witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect, are asked to contact the CHP Woodland office at 530-662-4685.
