Christian Barragan Killed in Market Street Crash in Riverside

One Killed | Six Injured in Multi-Vehicle Hit-and-run Collision

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (April 17, 2025) — Christian Barragan, 37, of Riverside, died Wednesday night in a multi-vehicle crash on Market Street near 5th Street in downtown Riverside.

Six others were hospitalized after the collision last night around 6:15 p.m. on April 16th, between 5th Street and Mission Inn Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner and Press-Enterprise.

Investigators believe a suspect driving one of the vehicles collided with several other motorists and attempted to flee the scene, the Press-Enterprise report said.

Police and paramedics responded and found one person dead at the scene and six others with minor to moderate injuries who they transported to a hospital.

Authorities eventually located the suspect and the person was detained on undisclosed charges.

Detectives are working to determine the cause of the crash.
