
Christian Garnica, 27, ID’d as Suspect in Fatal Fontana DUI Crash
FONTANA, CA (March 6, 2023) – Authorities detained Christian Garnica after a fatal DUI crash near Citrus and Baseline avenues in Fontana.
Police determined that the 27-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when the collision took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Christian Garnica was driving a Ford Mustang north on Citrus Avenue near Baseline Avenue in Fontana.
Police said he then hit a male pedestrian near the intersection. The Fontana Herald News wrote that the accident occurred on March 5 at about 1:23 a.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim lying in the roadway. He ended up suffering from life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
The man died at the scene of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested Christian Garnica on a DUI charge. They booked the suspect at the West Valley Detention Center.
Officers forced the area of Citrus and Baseline avenues to close for a time following the incident. The Fontana DUI crash is still under investigation.
