Rollover Crash in Twentynine Palms
TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (Jan. 24, 2022) — Christiellen Rodrigues Almeida, 47, of Twentynine Palms, died in a rollover crash Thursday at Morongo Road and Indian Trail.
The two-vehicle crash happened about 6:16 a.m. on Jan. 20th in a desert area near a large solar farm, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At this time, police do not know what led up to the collision between the two motorists.
CHP officials arrived at the scene where they located a man trapped in an overturned vehicle with his “legs hanging out” and two juveniles were out of the vehicle sitting on the ground.
Cal Fire San Bernardino paramedics responded to the Twentynine Palms intersection. They requested two helicopters to transport those with serious injuries to hospitals. Christiellen Rodrigues Almeida, a passenger in the overturned vehicle, later died about 8:37 a.m. at the hospital.
Authorities did not mention any further details about the collision.
Investigators with the CHP Morongo station are heading up the investigation and will determine fault for the Twentynine Palms rollover crash.
