Christina Castillo, 51, ID’d as Suspect in Modesto Fatal DUI Crash
MODESTO, CA (March 14, 2022) – Authorities detained Christina Castillo after a DUI crash that killed a bicyclist in Modesto.
Police determined that 51-year-old Modesto woman was under the influence when the fatal accident happened on Sunday.
The incident began when Christina Castillo was driving a 2017 Acura ILX in the area of Yellowstone Avenue and Woodland Avenue in Modesto.
At the same time, Michelle Johnson was riding a bicycle north on Yellowstone. Police said Christina Castillo then struck the 38-year-old Modesto woman in the intersection.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, three blocks west of Carpenter Road. They found the bicyclist lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the rider to a hospital, where she died. The Modesto Bee and ABC 10 News wrote that the accident occurred on March 13 at about 5:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested Christina Castillo on suspicion of DUI. The Modesto DUI crash is still under investigation.
