DUI Driver Christina Diaz, 19, Arrested After Fatal Crash on Greenback Lane

DATE OF ACCIDENT: Tuesday, October 9th
October 10, 2018 – A fatal hit-and-run collision occurred Tuesday evening on Greenback Lane, according to Sacramento Bee.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., 19-year-old Christina Diaz was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry going west on Greenback Lane near San Juan Avenue. Officials believed Diaz intentionally crashed into a Dodge van that traveling at an unspecified direction.
Andrey Tagintsev Killed in Citrus Heights DUI Crash
The impact forced the Camry to cross over the center median, and veer into eastbound lanes where it struck a Mercedes-Benz sedan. Primary reports indicated the driver of the Mercedes-Benz sedan, identified as 45-year-old Andrey Tagintsev was killed in the accident.
Furthermore, the occupants in the Dodge van suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. The name of the injured parties have not been disclosed thus far.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned Diaz tried to run from the scene before police arrived. The hit-and-run suspect was located shortly after the incident, and was taken into custody. As per the article, Diaz was charged Wednesday with four felony counts–assault with a deadly weapon, DUI with injury, hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter, and is being held on $395,000 bail in Sacramento County Main Jail.
