JULIAN, San Diego County (December 25, 2016) – A deadly rollover collision occurred on Great Southern Overland Stage Route Saturday morning, according to NBC San Diego.
The solo-vehicle accident took place around 11:30 a.m.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol 38-year-old Rosario Garcia Ibarra was driving a 2003 Nissan Xterra south on the Great Southern Overland Stage Route when for an unknown reason she lost control of the car.
Ibarra was reportedly attempting to negotiate a puddle when the SUV spun and then overturned.
CHP affirmed that Ibarra was ejected during the crash. She and her adult passenger, 47-year-old Christine Loraine Wagner, died at the scene.
The two deceased women were Escondido residents.
Meanwhile, Ibarra’s children, an 8-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were taken to taken to Rady Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
