Woman, 78, Killed and Christine Wilson Injured in Visalia Pedestrian Accident on Walnut Street

VISALIA (December 10, 2017) – One woman was killed and another person was injured in a pedestrian accident on Walnut Street Saturday morning, according to Fresno Bee.

At approximately 8 a.m., a 78-year-old woman and 51-year-old Christine Wilson were both crossing north on Walnut from the Rancho Viejo shopping center. Then, for reasons still under investigation, an oncoming 2005 Toyota truck struck both women.

Responding medical personnel immediately rendered aid to the pedestrians who both appeared to be hurt. The victims were reportedly taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Centre where the elderly woman sadly succumbed to her injuries. Furthermore, medical records indicated that Wilson is still being treated at the hospital as of late Saturday.

No immediate information was disclosed on the involved driver.

Further investigation is ongoing at this time to determine the precise cause of the fatal accident.
