Plumas, CA (June 9, 2021) – Police arrested 40-year-old Christopher Carlisle in relation with a deadly traffic collision on Highway 70 on June 8, Tuesday.

According to KRCRTV News, Christopher Carlisle was driving a vehicle traveling on Highway 70 in Plumas County. When the SUV approached the area near C Road, the driver lost control while traversing a curve.

The article published online indicated the vehicle ended up veering into oncoming traffic. Then, the 2009 Honda Pilot went airborne and slammed into a large tree.

Officials said the passenger suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. Responding paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene shortly after 8:40 p.m.

Meanwhile, Christopher Carlisle reportedly sustained moderate injuries. An air ambulance transported the driver to Renown Hospital for treatment. Police said they will take the suspect into custody once medically cleared. Christopher Carlisle, of Chico, will face charges including suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and driving on a suspended license.

Further investigation on the case is underway.
