Christopher Chairez, 22, Killed in Moreno Valley Crash on Lasselle and John F Kennedy
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 15, 2021) – A car crash killed Christopher Chairez near Lasselle Street and John F Kennedy Drive in Moreno Valley.
The Sheriff’s Department identified the 22-year-old Moreno Valley man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Monday evening.
The incident happened when Christopher Chairez was driving a red Toyota sedan north on Lasselle Street in Moreno Valley. At the same time, a white Mercedes SUV was going south.
Several Injured in Car Collision
For an unknown reason, the Mercedes crossed into opposing traffic. The SUV slammed head-on into the Toyota at the intersection with John F Kennedy Drive.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced Christopher Chairez dead at the scene. The Daily Bulletin wrote that the accident took place on June 14 at about 7:50 p.m.
The occupants of the Mercedes sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took them to the Riverside University Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, officers shut down the area of John F Kennedy and Lasselle for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Moreno Valley crash is still under investigation.
