Christopher Andrew Lopez, 21, Suspect in Fatal Crash on Flower Street Near Haley Street
Bakersfield, CA (August 19, 2021) – Police arrested 21-year-old Christopher Andrew Lopez in relation with a deadly pedestrian accident that occurred on Flower Street.
On July 23, Christopher Lopez was seen driving a stolen white 2003 Ford F-150. In the north alley of Flower Street, just west of Haley Street, the suspect struck a pedestrian. Witnesses believed the driver intentionally ran over the victim.

The KGET News reported the collision resulted in life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian. Responding paramedics rushed the victim to Kern Medical, where they later sadly succumbed to their trauma and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
According to the article published online, Christopher Lopez fled the scene following the horrible incident. Police later located the man; and was further identified in a photo lineup as the suspect in the fatal crash.
Authorities charged Christopher Lopez with first-degree murder; vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence; assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm; hit-and-run causing death or permanent serious injury; possession of a stolen vehicle; taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
