Christopher Morales and Desmond Franklin Killed in Crash on Market Street at 60 Freeway
RIVERSIDE (June 9, 2018) – Two were killed and one was badly injured after an alleged hit-and-run crash on Market Street at the 60 Freeway interchange early Saturday morning, according to The Press Enterprise.
Coroner’s office identified the victims as 25-year-old Christopher Morales and 26-year-old Desmond Franklin. Morales was from Hesperia while Franklin was a Victorville resident.
As per the article, Riverside police said a black Nissan Sentra headed north on Market Street was preparing to turn left to enter the 60 Freeway when it was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The SUV was going south when the crash occurred at 3:14 a.m.
Eric Figueroa-Reyes Arrested For Hit-and-Run
Morales was pronounced dead at the scene while Franklin was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital where he later died. Both were riding as passengers in the Sentra.
The driver of the Sentra, a woman in her 20s, was also hospitalized to be treated for moderate injuries. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist in the SUV did not stop to render aid and fled. The suspect, 22-year-old Eric Alfredo Figueroa-Reyes, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. The Fontana resident was detained at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
The incident remains under investigation.
